Understanding Facial Aging

At Med44, we specialize in creating comprehensive treatment plans for each of our patients. During your initial appointment, your medical provider will work with you to create a customized plan to meet your aesthetic goals. Our approach is to provide expert medical aesthetic treatments to keep each patient looking natural and refreshed.

At Med44 Arcadia our nursing staff and clinical team is extensively trained in anatomy and safety. We believe it’s important for every patient to understand the facial aging process, as well as the science and technology behind our medical grade products and treatments. During your consultations and scheduled appointments, your provider will educate you on comprehensive treatments, pre and post care, as well as how to maintain your results. We invite you to learn more about the facial aging process, including bone, fat pad, and skin changes that occur, and the aesthetic treatments available below.

facial Fat pads and volume loss

A youthful look depends on having the appropriate proportions of facial fat in the correct places. With an increase in age, the natural fat pads of the face start to dissipate and redistribution, accumulation, and atrophy of the fat lead to facial volume loss. With this, the areas of the fat tend to separate, creating a less smooth appearance to the facial structures. Areas of fat loss are usually in the forehead, under eyes, cheeks and lips. Due to descent of tissue and skin laxity, other areas of the face may increase their volume of fat, such as around the mouth and jawline.

Your facial Structure and Bone loss

With age, there is also a significant loss of facial bone. The craniofacial skeleton atrophy is due to the relative dynamics of bone expansion and bone resorption. Bone resorption leads to volume loss creating less structural support of the facial features. This allows bony features to appear more prominently, as well as lines and wrinkles to become more visible. This causes the appearance of hollow eyes, less defined cheekbones, softened jawline, flattening of the chin, a downward shifting tip of the nose and elongation of the upper lip.

Under Eye Tear Trough

Under eye hollowing, dark circles, and crepey skin are very common concerns of our aesthetic patients. A comprehensive assessment of each individual is important to determine if a patient is a candidate for non-surgical tear trough treatments. Concurrent treatment of the medial and lateral cheeks are important components of our tear trough rejuvenation services at Med44.

Recommended Treatments

• PRP/PRF Injections for Under Eyes/ Tear Troughs
• Exosome Injections for Under Eyes/ Tear Troughs
• Restylane Eyelight
• Micro Tox for Under Eyes

Mid Face, Temples, & Cheeks

When properly placed, mid-face, temple, and cheek enhancement can slenderize the face, add more volume, and improve under eye hollowing. Natural enhancements to these areas require full face assessment and artistry to ensure balance, proportions and proper transitions. Mid-face rejuvenation of cheeks and temples must always be balanced with lower face rejuvenation of the chin, jawline and lips. At Med44, we provide a Full-Face Assessment with every consultation.

Recommended Treatments

• Sculptra
• Dermal Filler
• Sofwave Ultrasound Lifting
• Vivace RF Microneedling
• PDO Threads

Jawline & Chin

Jowling and laxity in the face are among the most common concerns of aesthetic patients. Fullness in the jowls often makes the face appear square and heavy. Injectables as well as radio frequency and ultrasound technology can be used to soften the appearance of jowling, while also sharpening the jawline. Additionally, improving chin projection can enhance facial symmetry, reduce the look of jowling, and define the jawline.

Recommended Treatments

• Dermal Filler for Jawline, Chin, and Cheeks/Cheekbones
• Kybella
• Neurotoxins for Masseters and Neck Bands
• Sofwave Ultrasound Lifting
• Vivace RF Microneedling
• PDO Threads

Small Lip Queen

One of the most popular and sought-after injectable treatments is lip enhancement. At Med44, our lip philosophy is less is more. Our Small Lip Queen Treatment offers rejuvenation of the lips to improve hydration, define the borders, provide symmetry and subtle volume enhancement. Additionally, we offer a Dissolving Service for patients who wish to dissolve their lip dermal filler prior to scheduling their Small Lip Queen Treatment.

Recommended Treatments

• Dermal Filler for Lips and Lip Hydration
• Lip Filler Dissolvent
